a day, February 7th. I've only had a few hours of sleep. It has been an insane week of political news.

Of course in Washington with the president being acquitted in the Senate,

but I'd like to talk about Iowa and the coming... and with the president being acquitted in the Senate.

But I'd like to talk about Iowa and the coming primary in New Hampshire

and what the heck went wrong with these caucuses.

You know, because they are made for TV events there was all night and all morning long

coverage it kind of feels like the caucus coverage is continuing now for a fourth

or fifth day so I'm here with Claire Malone. She's a senior political writer at

538 and a frequent co-host for their politics podcast. She previously

worked with the New Yorker and the American Prospect. And Claire, you were up in New

Hampshire this week, you're about to head back,

but I'm glad to see you here in New York in between.

Yeah. And I think before we talk about New Hampshire and what to look ahead toward, what to expect in the primary, let's post-mortem the Iowa Caucasus even though

they're not actually over yet. It's Friday and we still don't actually technically

have all the results. Right, the never-ending story. Yeah. technically have

all the results. Yeah, Iowa is just I mean I think I think what the the media

narrative is this week and what's probably right is that the Iowa caucuses have really shot themselves in the foot
