Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Five times in the sermon on the mount Jesus commands us not to

worry but we do. So here are five principles to overcome the worry that controls our life.

First, identify the specific source of worry.

Are we worried about future things that almost never happen?

Mark Twain expressed it well. I've suffered a great many misfortunes, most of which

never happened. Or are we worried about things over which we have no control? God has

given each one of us a very limited scope of authority and responsibility.

We have authority over our own behavior.

Our family, our kids, a certain authority over our workplace and our voting.

But we spend a lot of emotional energy worrying about things that are beyond our responsibility.

That is God's responsibility.

So surrender to God what he is responsible for,

and you just stick to what you're responsible for.

Another trap we fall into is that we become worried about things that we have been procrastinating. When we put off some responsibility, anxiety sets in. Just do it and you'll feel better.

Lastly, we tend to get overwhelmed because we have bitten off way more than we can chew. There is just too much in our life. That's the time to re-evaluate,

to decide what is realistic, remove things from your life,
