Because I had to go to LA for a couple meetings,

so I figured we tried to do.

When we first started working on this podcast,

Leon Benson's exoneration seemed inevitable, a done

deal. How could it not be? The evidence collected over the years showed clearly that

although one witness still believed Leon was responsible for Casey Shane's death,

a wealth of other people had seen something entirely different.

Surely everyone else would see that too.

The everyone here being the criminal justice system and more specifically the judge.

But as I say this out loud, I'm reminded of an earlier episode of this podcast where I compared Leon to the

protagonist of Kafka's The Trial. Remember the guy that believed that if he just

pointed out the obviousness of his innocence for long enough.

Someone would listen.

Someone would take action.

Now I was that character.

I mean, look at all these pieces of evidence that point in opposite directions,

said muttered to Laura, who, well, didn't need me to tell her that.

Still things dragged we waited for action from the court in Indianapolis where Laura had submitted a motion through a local attorney on Leon's behalf, nothing.
