Josh Young is dragging your batting average to the bottom of the ocean ever since Memorial Day.

Is it time to part ways with him or at least just bench him?

All coming up next on the Roto Wire Fancy Baseball podcast.

Poor Josh Young, getting taking strays because he's in a slump there.

0:32.8

We're using him as our bullet point there for Memorial Day slumpers, but he has been slumping badly.

I'm Jeff Erickson. He's Red Zinky. We're talking about post-Memorial Day slumpers. We'll hit that topic soon. We've got news and notes at the top of the show as well. Just glad to be back. Happy talking ball with you, Fred. It's been a while, I think about two, three weeks. So thanks to Todd and Clay for covering for me during various graduations and travel stuff there. Now we are back to normal. and I wanted to start right off with another player that's back to normal is Ronald Ocuna Jr., who might be the 1.1 again.

Is this what we're questioning?

1:02.9

I think it's a worthy discussion.

So, I mean, I knew Acuna had been red hot, but what I didn't realize is that since

he, since the date of his return,

1:12.7

and I mean, how many guys do not hit the ground running when they come back from long-term

injuries? But I'm not even, I'm saying since the very first game he played, he is like just

a couple percentage points behind Cal Rally for the highest OPS in baseball. So we've got a 1213 O OPS. I think since that date rally was like 12-16. But like I just said, like so many players come back and need a little bit of time to get going. Acuna didn't need that at all. Hit Homer's in his first two games back. So he's hitting him basically a Homer every three games since he came back. So we're talking in a full season, like a 50, 50 in change, Homer pace. Not a huge base dealer, but we know he's got it in him. He's got three steals so far. We know two recently, right? Two last four days. Right. Like we know, if we're comparing him to Aaron Judge, like we know Acuna has way more steals potential, obviously, 73, two years ago.

2:04.5

Even if he's not going to push it on the base paths this year.

2:10.0

He leads the majors and runs scored, I think tied with Ellie Dilla Cruz since he came back,

2:15.2

which has always been really like his, the power is great.

2:18.8

The steals sometimes are incredible, but the runs I find with the Kuna every year.

2:22.3

He just scores a ton of runs so fast, he gets on base.

2:25.2

Anyways, I don't know.

2:27.0

I think, and he was the one-one. Like, he was the one-one in 2023 before these injuries came.

2:31.3

I'm not saying he has to be everyone's one-one, but I think he's his valuable.

2:36.4

Because I've got like rest of season rankings going this year,
