podcast where I dish out short entertaining bite-size lessons on how to read

tarot. For today's episode our topic is the Five of Pentacles. Grab your tarot deck. Let's begin. All right, so no one is ever

happy when the Five of Pentacles shows up in a tarot reading. After all, the picture is pretty grim. It's two people dressed in rags,

hobbling along in the snow. You know, not much about this card is appealing. But what about those

symbols? Are they all negative? Nope. Let's dive into a few of them

because this card is certainly full of things to notice. All right, so for one, look closely at the male figure.

He's wearing a bell around his neck.

Now back in medieval days, lepers wore bells around their necks to let people know that they were coming.

It served as a warning. The bell can also symbolize health issues, warnings, but also being an outsider. Now the bandages

symbolize injury or a wound. The figure is suffering or has been wounded in some way.

The crutches are a symbol of aid. This is support. Also you'll notice there's a stained glass window. This is another

symbol of help available. Now also the presence of the two figures is an indicator of teamwork or sticking

together through hardship or having help during hard times which is really interesting when you think about this card, you know, it's often a sign of financial hardship,

but the symbols of two people, the church window and the crutches

are a reminder that there is help,

that you do not have to go it alone.

So from that, we can begin coming up with interpretations.

So of course, this card can indicate financial hardship and struggles.

The loss of a job, getting evicted, financial drama, it's all here in this card.

When the five of pentacles arrives, it can be saying, times are going to be tough for a spell.
