This morning we would like to talk about Turkey, the Turkish elections, and France's decision at the last minute to block or postpone agreement on the renewable energy directive.

Let's start with Turkey.

Zazana, the first round of the election was a big surprise.

The polls got it wrong, and they not only got it wrong,

but they always get it wrong in the same way,

that we keep underestimating incumbents,

and we keep underestimating especially populists.

So where are we now in this?

Adaghan just came in almost with 50%.

Is he now through already, or is there still an open race?

Well, I wouldn't call it already a close top like Victor Orban did

because he already congratulated Erdogan on his victory

and wishing him good luck for the second round.

So taking his victory as given, I think this is something.

Even Adelwan is kind of holding back on that.

If you were too celebratory, it might cost you.

Ideally, it was amazing how the polls got it wrong.

They had Kemal, Kalishdorublo, in the lead in all of the polls.

And yet he came out second. And yes, Adawan nearly made it through the 50% limit needed in order to win outright for the first round.

He didn't get that. So there will be a second round.
