Across the old battlefields of the Western Front, perhaps thousands of memorials

mark the great battles of the First World War. Many, we know, many are frequently visited,

but what can we learn from five little-known memorials of World War I.

The first snow has fallen along the old front line and it feels that winter is certainly here and the year is coming to an end.

It's that time when we look back over the last 12 months and review our year. And this week I reviewed the

podcast year on Spotify, one of the many platforms that you listen to the podcast on. It's amazing

just to see how many listens the podcast gets now. We're averaging well over a thousand downloads a day.

And Spotify inform me that the old front line podcasts is in the top 5% of podcasts of all podcasts

on Spotify, which is absolutely staggering. So I wanted once again to thank you all for listening to the podcast over the course of this year.

The year isn't over.

We've still got some episodes to go before Christmas.

And that in itself is just incredible.

When I think going back to those early years of visiting the battlefield,

so we often felt in isolation you could walk for weeks and never see another English speaking person or anyone interested in the Great War.

And here we are as a collective community, passionate about this subject, engaged by this subject, and determined, as I think all of us are, to make sure that this subject is never forgotten.
