We're wrapping up our training camp preview series sort of with with five questions actually 15

questions but these are the final five questions this would be about the defensive back seven

let's get right to it question number one and this isn't a question like I wonder if this will go

badly or not because there are those there are those in this. This is a question of hope and excitement and wonder and amazement. And that is, of course, what can Edger and Cooper be? You want to take a brief trip to negative town. I've heard, you know, I think Edron Cooper can be the best linebacker in the league. Okay. I'm with you.

I think that's within the realm.

Fred Warner's getting older.

You know, you've got other guys out there doing it at a high level.

Obviously, Bobby Wagner is getting very much older.

But there's room.

The kings are, the kings of the linebacker position are sort of of aging out to make room for

newer guys. With that said, I will say, and definitely if you're going to talk about Fred, the best

linebackers in the league do make plays in coverage. So I'm really interested to see his development

in that part of the game.

He is, I think, a souped up version of Quay in that he's a better player than Quay and he was

the second he stepped on the field. But his best attributes, I thought this in college, we're running

forward. It takes a special kind of linebacker to be good in a back pedal or in a drop.

And most of what's important in linebacker play, I would say probably is in your ability to move towards the football instead of away from it.

But to be a complete player, I'm fascinated by the coverage piece.
