Summary

Understanding how deeply God’s grace impacts our lives frees us from toiling in self-effort to please Him. In a world where most people work hard to earn God’s blessings, all we need to do is to accept and believe in His finished works. We have already been blessed and accepted as members of God’s royal family; this happens automatically when we get born again. He has given us undeserved gifts because we are—and always will be—His beloved children, regardless of what we do. The knowledge that we have been cleansed of all sin and made righteous in God’s eyes changes our motives from fear of punishment to a desire to do what pleases Him. This enables us to walk as God’s sons and daughters, which is now our true identity. Faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross enables us to continually bring our earthly walk closer in tune with God’s will for us.

0:19.0	If you have your Bibles, go with me to the Book of Ephesians chapter four we've been talking about the
0:27.3	worthy walk and today it starts off extremely radical.
0:38.0	It's the truth, but it is going to shake every tradition in your body and your mind and your thinking.
0:47.0	Now there are a couple of things I want to establish from previous teachings so that we can really get a hold of this.
0:59.1	The first thing is, under grace, God will first remind us of what he has done in grace.
1:11.4	And then on the basis of that, work that he's done in grace,
1:15.0	then he's going to appeal for a life that will harmonize with that which he's done in grace.
1:21.0	For example, I beseech you brother in Romans 12 and one by
1:28.5	the mercies of God that you present your bodies of living sacrifice.
1:33.9	God does something in grace first,
1:37.4	and then he shows up with an appeal,
1:41.3	the intent to try to get our lives to harmonize with what he's done in grace.
1:49.2	The second thing is that God's appeals for godly conduct are valid only when based on his works of
2:00.1	grace. So when God makes an appeal, forgive one another, get rid of bitterness, honor
2:07.5	him with your body. His appeals are only valid if they're based on his works of grace. So if God's asking us to obey in any area,
2:16.0	it's going to be based on his works of grace. And then the final thing.

2:26.0	God's appeals have no force when his mercy and grace are ignored.
