We have reached the last show of 2025 and I want to talk about 2026. We're going to make some

predictions, some things I'm excited about, some things that make me a little worried about next year

in what's going to be another really jam-packed, very cool, very challenging year in women's

football. What a year it's been. What a year it's going to be.

Thank you everyone who listened for us this year. It's been a great year of women's football

coverage. And I just want to talk about what's going to happen next. Let's jump in.

So we have reached the end of 2025. This is our final show before the new year. And I don't want to look back on 2025. If you want to do that, you can go and listen to a whole year of shows. I want to talk about the future. Now, I'm not very good at predictions. I think you can go back to a whole year of the late sub and watch me make all these different ideas about who's going to win what.

And I'm always like close, but never quite right.

Not very good of predictions, not even that very good at New Year's resolutions. but I think it would be fun to do a couple of projections here for 2026 based on vibes, results, things that have changed in the offseason,

offseason news, big teams that are in season, some results that we've seen,

maybe paint a picture of what we think 2026 or what I think 2026 could look like

because the soccer calendar refuses to slow down and I think it's going to be another

really interesting year. So we're just going to put this into a list here,

five bold, semi-bold predictions for women's soccer in 2026.

Now the first one is I think this is general but not.

And we'll get into the particulars between the NWSL,

WSL and Champions League.

I don't think there are going to be any repeat champions in 2026.

I think we're hitting a really lovely era of parity worldwide in global women's soccer.

I think that's really exciting.

By the numbers, maybe saying something like that's a big statement.

I think like WSL in particular, Chelsea came into this season as the six time reigning WSL champions, you know, with a roster that's only getting stronger. They've been pretty aggressive in the transfer market as well. You look at NWSL, the Kansas City Current, or the winningest NWSL team of all time. Look at Gotham in the championship. They've won two out of the last three NWSL championships. Maybe you can believe it for
