Okay, so we have one week done of the open. We're just kicking it off. How does your body feel coming off of the off season, coming off of last year?

0:11.0

I feel good now. It was definitely hard after the games to kind of ramp back up to do Rogue. I found myself not really ready to train really hard again.

0:25.0

I got to the training groove and I think I would say fitter than I was at the games for Rogue. Rogue didn't go as planned, but after that, I tried to take more of an off season and just let myself recover.

0:41.0

I knew I was going to do water polices, so I couldn't take too much time off. But during that time, I just enjoyed being kind of just like a normal person and not training like a crazy professional athlete.

0:54.0

And like training six hours a day. So that was really nice. Went home, visited friends, family. It was just very relaxing. And it was definitely time that I needed.

1:08.0

And then leading up into the open, kind of the same thing with after the games, it was like trying to get my body to go hard again.

1:20.0

And I don't know, like it took a little bit longer than I thought it would right before they open. All is after water poliza. I got back and I got really sick for two weeks.

1:32.0

So I took some time off was excited to get back into training and then just like the whole body hurt. And I was like, man, the open's coming up. Like what's going on? And this happened last year too.

1:43.0

It's like a, I don't know, like maybe anxiety and nerves from just you know what's about to happen. Like this whole season is about to happen. And it's like my body just was like, whoa.

1:58.0

And so it just had so many aches and pains everywhere. And then I would say the past week, I've just kind of gotten back into my groove, which just felt really good.

2:09.0

But this happened, like I said last year, I like tweaked my back right before they open and then did the open and it was great. And I kind of just had like a really great season after that.

2:20.0

But I think for, I don't know, the beginning of the season for that month or two before it really starts, I found that it's hard to really get myself amped up until it actually starts. And then I'm like, okay, we're in it and now I'm good.

2:37.0

So now I feel like I'm in that good groove with things. Do you feel like it's because whether this is like pressure that you put on yourself or just pressure of like the sport and the trajectory?

2:49.0

It's headed towards, but do you feel I wouldn't even say like burnout, but like the stress of that because there's almost an expectation to do these offseason competitions to make sure that you're constantly like checking in.

3:03.0

Yes, I, I was definitely worried about that because I'm like, I don't want to be feeling like it was after a lot of plusa and I got sick like I told you, I kind of getting back into training.

3:16.0

I'm like, well, the open's coming. I have to get back into training, but it's almost like I'm not ready to. And I think there's a balance between doing, you know, just enough crossfit style workouts and not enough.

3:31.0

And so I felt like there's times where I'm doing a lot of met cons and I almost feel like I'm pushing the boundary of getting burnt out and I never want to feel that way.

3:41.0

So then I'll communicate with my coach and be like, hey, I'm kind of feeling not in the mood to go really hard. Maybe we should take a step back with those intense workouts.

3:51.0

And so I think it comes down to just finding what works best for you because what works for me isn't going to work for you. And I don't know.

3:59.0

I think as the season progresses and my body gets used to the volume and the training, it's so different. Like in a month, I will look back and be like, wow, I was only doing that.

4:10.0

And I was feeling that right and like before the games, for example, you feel like a superhero and everything feels easy and it feels so good.

4:19.0

And right now you're not supposed to feel that way because you're not supposed to be peaked it.
