Hey everybody, this week in All Things Fishing, we talk about fishing cold water for catfish.

On this episode, we'll go over all kinds of things you can do to change to hopefully catch more fish when the water starts to cool off.

Hey, everybody, I'm super excited to be recording the 58th episode of the All Things Fishing podcast this week.

And this week, like I said, in the introduction, we will be talking about fishing cold water for catfish.

So on this episode, this episode is coming out a bit late because I was actually fishing yesterday when I normally would have been recording the episode.

And we got quite a few very tiny catfish, which I was actually really surprised about.

Because the water has gotten below that 50 degree mark, which is where the catfish really usually stop biting

for most of the rest of the winter.

But we still caught quite a few very tiny fish.

So I'm very happy about it.

So yeah.

For lure of the week, I don't really have a lure that we have been using because the bass have not been biting at all.

Neither have the sunfish or any tiny little panfish like that.

So I do not have a lure of the week for this week, but maybe next week.

So now we'll get into fishing cold water for catfish.

So there's a few things you can do that will really, really help for winter catfish.

So the first thing that I would always do is change your bait.

The catfish are not going to be eaten the same thing in the winter that they were eating in the middle of the summer.

They're going to want more, like, live bait is going to be a much bigger, a much better bait to use in the winter.

It's a great bait to use in the summer, but if you're not using live bait in the summer,

if you're using something else in the summer, you should most definitely switch to live bait in the winter.
