What's up y'all? I'm Alan Hay in the Lawn Care Night. Thanks for coming back for yet another lawns across America podcast. I know it's been a little bit of time since I've done one of these, been busy, you know, this is the season, this is the time of year where I'm out in the lawn quite a bit more often, not just making videos for you guys, but I'm making videos for yard mastery in our app, things like that, as well as just out in my lawn doing my normal everyday work. You know, never forget, I'm a homeowner just like you. In fact, that's one of the things that I love most about my job is I'm actually making a living on something that I love doing long before I ever made a living doing it. I was always that guy in the neighborhood. When you look back at my original videos in Indiana, even before those videos, I had a blog that I had, and I would take pictures of my lawn and show it off. And I, even before that, before that, even stuff even existed, when I bought my first house in Griffith, Indiana, I just had the darkest green lawn on the block and just loved it, loved mowing, love throwing, all of that stuff. That's back when I was working for true green, so I could get all the really cool stuff that we had in our garage shoulder bider, and I could bring it home and try it out and put it on my lawn and stuff like that. I've just been that guy, always liking to do things, always liking to have the best lawn on the block. It's just fortunate that over the years as I started sharing that, started sharing the things that I loved, and I knew this ahead of time. I found others of you, thousands, tens of thousands of you that also enjoy having the greenest lawn in the block, the thickest lawn, the domination line. And nowadays, you share just like I do. You share with your neighbors. So many times year after year after year, I'll get different messages from folks that say, yeah, I've been doing my own lawn and my and my neighbors ask me how is your lawn so green and so I just start working with them and I share your products with them and I share your methodologies with them and then their lawns get green I see this all the time especially here in Florida because this is now where my biggest audience is Florida and Texas still got a lot of y'all up north don't want to forget about you please In fact, I'll be going up north to do some spring seating. I want to tease that.

2:03.1

That's right.

2:03.5

Spring seating, one of those things that i've always been against gonna do that this year so got plenty of cool season content coming but here in florida i run into people probably every other time i go out i'll run into somebody that's seen me on the lawn care nut and we have discussions and talks and, oh, yeah, me and my neighbors on the weekends. We talk about what we're doing.

2:18.7

We talk about your latest video. We talk about this and that. I love that kind of stuff. That is what building a true community is all about. And so it's really fortunate that now I get to share that kind of stuff with you guys. I get to make a living doing it. and it just gets better and better.

2:33.4

And that's why we're going to talk about today

2:34.8

some new products that I rolled out,

2:36.4

some natural base products. I get to make a living doing it, and it just gets better and better. And that's why we're going to talk about today some new products that I rolled out,

2:36.4

some natural base products. But before we do that, I wanted to show you. I think I've told this story before, but I'll tell it again, this time of year. This is that time of year when you're getting your fire in the belly. And actually, I'm not just talking to my homeowner friends here. I'm talking to you all that are driving around right now in a true green truck or a lawn doctor truck or a weed man truck or you got your own independent business, spray business. You're driving around. Even mow guys. You're out there mowing, blowing. You're out there doing your thing and you're listening to my podcast and your headphones while you're mowing or while you spraying. I want to say, welcome to you. I know you're out there because I hear from you guys a lot too, especially when I speak in the Law and Care Life conference, which is Jason Crills Conference. That's every year in the late winter. And I meet so many folks at that conference that literally got there start watching my videos and now they have lawn services or now they have lawn services and podcast influencers. That just, that's what I call clipping coupons, right? You invest all this time and now you get to clip those coupons and you get to meet these people that you've influenced and see that they are successful and they're in the business and making a full time living. I freaking love that. So I want to just say hi to you guys to shout out to you. I hope you learn things from my podcast and from my videos that will help you to be a better technician for True Green or for weed man or for lawn doctor or for your independent business. Massey. Maybe you're with Massey down here in Florida. I hope that the things that you learn from me help you to do better applications for your customers so that you can have better retention and get better bonus and all of that. And maybe, or if you own your own company, it'll help you to grow a better company.

3:59.2

You'll be able to do something a little more unique, a little different. And speaking of that, this time of year with you professional guys and gals out there, we get a lot of this. And I've never really shared this before, but it's really become greater than ever this year, is we actually get a lot of professional companies that write into us.

4:14.7

Usually small operators, one or two trucks, but they'll write in through our contact form and say, hey, I want to buy a palette of flagship and use it for my customers. Like, wow, that's really cool, which you can. It's licensed in the state or certified in the state or whatever the term is. So you can do that. I don't recommend it.

4:45.5

I'm not out there saying if you own a professional lawn service, you should be using flagship and stress plan. But I know if you do, it's going to work. And a lot of you, that's, again, that's where you got your start. You got to start with that in your lawn. You see the results that it brings. And you want to stick with it because you trust it. and I think that is incredibly awesome.

4:46.1

Now, here's the thing.

4:47.6

You don't have to pay as much when you order a whole palette.

4:50.1

It's just how it is.

4:51.0

It's just the economics of scale.

4:53.4

When you guys are buying a single bag, a single 45 pound bag for your house,

4:58.5

there's shipping included in that price, right? It includes shipping. And that's why the prices are a little

5:02.7

higher because it's shipped right to your door. You know, FedEx doesn't give me the same price that they give Jeff Bezos

5:08.8

and Amazon, not even close. Because trust me, we try to sell stuff on Amazon too, and we can see

5:13.7

how much cheaper the shipping is that Amazon gets. And that's what their markup. It's nuts. It's crazy.

5:18.9

But that scale, right? Amazon is at scale. They get deep discounts, like 80, 90% discounts. It's nuts. What the kind of discounts Jeff Bezos gets. Hey, that's more power to you, buddy. You started delivering books out of your garage, you know, and now here you are. So we don't get that. So when you buy an individual bag, there is shipping included. And that's the reason why the price is a little bit higher. Now again, we give you better ingredients too. So even if you were to just buy it straight off the shelf, there's going to be stuff in there that you're not getting in a store bought for the micro nutrients, the bionite, you know, the high iron content, things like that. I also have, you know, two kinds of nitrogen in there, whereas most storebought stuff doesn't. It's just straight urea. I've got some AMS nitrogen there. So I have some things in there that also do add a little bit to the cost, but that also adds to the result that you get. But long and sort of it is when you're buying them individually, yeah, there's there's shipping. So if there's, you know, 40 bags or 50 bags on a pallet, every one of those being shipped singly includes shipping. But when you buy an entire palette, now I can do freight shipping. And to ship an entire palette, the shipping is so much lower because you're shipping one full palette. Now, at the other end, though, you've got to have a way to get it off the truck. You've got to have a forklift or you've got to have a skid steer with forks on it. Or we can send it

6:31.8

with a lift gate, which has a little bit of price. But what I'm trying to say is that's just the economies of scale. And this is the same thing for those of you that buy locally at Site 1. you're not going to get the same price on one bag that you buy for your house from site one
