| 0:00.0 | From WNYC Studios. I'm Brian Lehrer. This is my daily politics podcast. It's Thursday, |
| 0:11.6 | September 26th. As we follow the breaking news of the indictment of Mayor Eric Adams this morning, |
| 0:19.6 | we're going to bring on our next guest in just |
| 0:22.1 | a couple of minutes. But I thought before we do that, I would just read some of the text |
| 0:26.6 | of the actual indictment as it's been released. So I'm going to read just from the very start of it. |
| 0:34.0 | And it actually starts a decade ago. It says in 2014, Eric Adams, the defendant, |

| 1:49.9 | including by planning to solicit more illegal contributions |
| 1:53.7 | and granting requests from those who supported his 2021 mayoral campaign with such donations. |
| 2:01.7 | So that's in the indictment. |
| 2:03.1 | With us now, Andrew Weissman, NYU Law Professor and MSNBC Legal Analyst and author of books, |
| 2:09.1 | including where law ends inside the Mueller investigation. |
| 2:13.3 | Andrew was a top prosecutor under Mueller in that Russia investigation and the book, |
| 2:18.2 | The Trump Indictments, the Historic Charging Documents with Commentary. Well, now we have a |
