Sergio and Ali thought they were years away from buying a home, but this replay episode reveals how fear, misinformation, and the right guidance changed everything.

Hey, have you ever felt imposter syndrome? Well, right now in 2026, that condition is crippling millions

0:06.5

of people who want to buy a home. I mean, come on, if you listen to what people are saying,

0:10.0

then the only people out there that are buying homes, they've either got giant down payments or gifts

0:15.0

from their parents. So people who used to have hopes of homeownership, well, now they feel like

0:20.2

it's a pipe dream and they decide that they're just fooling themselves. The interview you're about to hear of Sergio and Allie, they reached out to me a couple years ago when it was still really tough to buy a home, and they were completely at that time able to safely and responsibly buy a house. They could get out of their high rent situation like tomorrow, but they just couldn't see it.

0:39.5

They felt like they were years away and they were discouraged by the housing market.

0:43.1

So I sent them some information so that they could educate themselves, look at it on their own time,

0:48.5

and they could see all their options. But the fact that they had been so misinformed and discouraged,

0:53.9

you know, it really stuck with me.

0:55.7

Kind of pissed me off to tell you the truth.

0:57.6

More people should be able to know that there's a way to do this.

1:00.5

So what I did was I actually used their situation as an example, and I recorded an entire episode, talked about them,

1:06.1

because I wanted other people to see how many options were actually available, and still, people

1:11.8

were feeling like they had no shot.

1:13.5

And I changed their name in the episode.

1:15.0

I called them Bob, and because I couldn't think of a name for her, I just called her Bobette.

1:19.5

That was episode 276, where I explained that their imposter syndrome was so ridiculously unfounded.

1:26.5

They were so ready.

1:28.2

And at the very least, they should have been talking to a real estate support team as soon as possible

1:32.2

so they can get the real information on all their options.

1:35.4

Turns out they did just that.

1:36.7

And five months later, they got the keys to their home.
