In the spring statement last week, the Chancellor claimed government help

had restored the dream of home ownership to millions of young people.

370,000 people bought their first home last year with a mortgage

the highest number in over a decade.

And more new homes were built in 2018 than at any time in the last 31 years.

And Philip Hammond asserted that it's his government policies that have helped those young adults get their first foot on the housing ladder.
