As we cross the threshold into a new year, ask the Lord to give you a new beginning of obedience.

Thy word is a lamp into my feet and a light unto my path.

We're taking the first steps into a brand new year.

That's pretty amazing.

And God has a path for us to follow, and only the Lord can show us step by step how to make the journey through this year.

This is an opportunity for all of us to get a fresh

start in our walk with Christ, in our devotional life. Honestly, it never gets any easier

than at a season like this to get a new beginning, to take action. Do you want to learn more from

God's word this year? Then take the first step. Read a chapter of the Bible today. You want to pray more this year? take the first step read a chapter of the Bible today you want to pray more this year take the first step go to a quiet room and get alone with

God and talk to him you want to reach someone for Christ take the first step get out of your office

and go find someone to talk to today you want to spend more time with your family take the first

step log off the computer have a conversation you want to take better care with your family. Take the first step. Log off the computer, have a conversation.

You want to take better care of the body God gave you to serve him with. Then take the first step, literally.

Take a walk. Take a run. Do you want to read more? Take the first step.

Begin on chapter one now. Whatever it is you desire to do, you have to do something about it. You have to take the first

step. That's the way a journey is made. One step at a time, and this is the time to take it. I want to

talk to you a little bit today about the first steps of a new start in your devotional life. And that's

really what all of us need at this time of year. And I want to give you a few suggestions.
