Summary

(John 2:1-11) The first recorded miracle of Jesus was at a wedding in Cana. It demonstrates the extraordinary work Jesus does in ordinary life. It also reveals that He does His greatest work when we have nothing, yet we trust and obey Him. What other principles will we discover today from the first miracle of Jesus? In difficult days and facing dire circumstances, it is always good to remind ourselves that God is greater than all.

0:14.9

Scott Pauley is examining the miracles of Jesus recorded for us in God's Word.

0:20.1

Our hope is that the message in these miracles will

0:23.1

become real in your life. Christ is enough. Let's open our Bibles and join the study now.

0:34.4

Today we begin one of the most exciting studies in all of Scripture. We begin our adventure of walking

0:41.1

through the individual miracles of the Lord Jesus Christ. I honestly am looking forward to every one of

0:48.7

these, and I want to encourage you to stay with us through the entire series. Let me say a couple

0:53.6

things by way of introduction.

0:54.9

The first is this, that we are not studying all of the miracles of Jesus. We're studying all

1:00.5

of the recorded miracles of Jesus. In fact, scripture is very plain that not all of the

1:05.9

miracles of Jesus are recorded for us. John tells us, but these are recorded so that you will know that Jesus Christ

1:13.6

indeed is the Son of God. So we know that our Lord performed many miracles. Only God himself knows

1:20.6

how many miracles were performed while our Lord was on earth. But we're studying the recorded

1:25.2

miracles of Jesus Christ, and I'll remind you that these are selected for us by the Holy Spirit

1:30.6

because each of these miracles has some message for us. There is a truth that God wants us to know.

1:36.7

And all of the miracles have one great message, and that is that Christ is enough. God is greater, greater than whatever or whoever you're dealing with today.

1:46.9

Greater than wherever or whenever you're living, God is greater and Christ is enough.

1:53.4

We begin our study in John chapter 2, and this is not arbitrary, no, this is very intentional,

1:58.1

because Scripture is very plain that this was the beginning of the miracles that Jesus did.

2:04.0

You know, there's some disagreement among Bible students and Bible teachers on exactly how many miracles there are.

2:10.8

I mean by that, the number of them.

2:13.5

And the disagreement really is not in the miracles themselves, but rather in their arrangement.
