| 0:41.0 | And then after Westerns went out of style, the whole genre is reborn in science fiction. |
| 0:46.0 | And I remember for years after college, I'd be watching a sci-fi movie and I'd be like, |
| 0:51.0 | oh, this is another Western narrative. |
| 0:53.0 | Specifically, the ones where the aliens were playing the role of the Indians. |
| 0:58.0 | For example, and this is not just in movies, but 19th century dime-store novels. |
| 1:02.0 | There's always the story where the aliens abduct white settlers. |
| 1:05.0 | They just come out of nowhere and grab them at night. |
| 1:08.0 | And then the settlers have to bring in hired guns to organize a search party |
| 1:12.0 | to find the hostages and save them, like the searchers. |
| 1:16.0 | Tighten up your sentience. |
| 1:18.0 | We go charging in about sun-up. |
| 1:21.0 | And James Cameron's aliens. |
