And you've got a girl coming into her blood time and nobody talks to her.

She gets the message that it doesn't matter. And it goes deep.

That is real. And then so does first sexual relations matter? If somebody trespasses, does it matter?

Do all the other things matter? We have a whole generation just for forging a new story for

menopause. This whole generation of women, they are creating a new pathway for parimenopause and menopause.

But our girls are monarchy girls. They can't really forge that way for themselves. I mean, they do.

It's like we also need to create a new pathway for them.

Menarchy, a girl's first period shapes how we experience womanhood for the rest of our lives.

And the lack of initiation most of us experience is itself an initiation.

In this culture that is fractured from the rights and wisdom of our grandmothers, where so many of us

met our first period with confusion and shame, how do we begin to heal this tender threshold
