Hello everyone, I'm Dennis Prager. This is the Fireside Chat. You know, I'm expecting some

musical fanfare at this moment and nothing's happening. Number 275. Now you will note that

Snoopy has replaced Otto today and there's nothing I can do about it. Otto is actually

lying at the foot of the camera. You cannot see him, but I'm proud of Snoopy for stepping

up when needed. So welcome to this Fireside Chat. It's my chance to think aloud spontaneously,

what's on my mind and what's in my heart and then take your questions sent in from various

parts of the world. So I am going to utilize my last Fireside Chat as the subject of my opening

comments. I don't think I've ever done. Last Fireside Chat was with Astrid H-O-G. It's actually

pronounced in Danish something like, but I must say Danish is not an easy language to pronounce

and I'm good at languages. Well, here he is, folks. He's decided to come over for reasons

that only the good Lord knows. So Astrid, I got to know her well, my wife and I did. She

stayed with us for a week. She's Danish. She had never been to America and you got to know

her in the, I think it was 59 minutes. We were one minute under an hour. I very rarely have

guests on the Fireside Chat and this was one that I had suggested to Prager you and of course

they were very happy to have her on. So I have thoughts on a subject that I increasingly

think is important and has become ever more important in my life. The issue of remarkable

people. So I'm going to tell you of a Jewish legend that I heard when I was very young and

I thought it's sweet but it didn't make any sense to me because on the face of it it's

not fully rational but it's actually very profound. So the legend is that there are 36

truly good or righteous people on earth at any given time and that if the number ever

decreases by one even to 35 the world would cease to exist. That's the legend. It sounds
