| 0:00.0 | Hey, everybody. Welcome to our first Firelight Chat. You know, this, of course, the name is |
| 0:11.2 | Anomash to Franklin Roosevelt and his Fireside chats. Sometimes people will say to me, |
| 0:16.4 | you know, Marianne, people tell me they want to know what your campaign stands for. |
| 0:20.4 | And I thought, wouldn't it be cool if you could just say to people, well, she talks every once |
| 0:24.4 | the night, every Sunday night, you can hear what she's talking about, what her campaign is about, |
| 0:28.8 | what the issues are that she cares about. So this is our first one. On Wednesdays, I will interview |
| 0:35.1 | people who are living the issues, the stories that seem important to me that this campaign |
| 0:42.4 | concerns itself with and that my presidency would concern itself with. That's number one. |
| 0:46.8 | And then on Sunday nights, we will do Ask Me Anything and you can see all of my social media |
| 0:51.4 | places where you can post your questions. I want to start tonight by talking about the basic |

| 1:17.4 | these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal. Now, that's not normally what we |
| 1:23.1 | would think of as a political statement. All men are created equal. And then the second self-evident |
| 1:28.1 | truth is that God gave unalienable rights of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness |
| 1:34.8 | to all men. And then there are two other principles in the Declaration that are radical. They were |
| 1:41.7 | radical in 1776. And the whole point of this campaign in a way is that they're radical today. |
| 1:47.2 | Because the third principle is that governments are instituted to secure those rights. That's |
| 1:53.5 | the purpose of government to secure our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. |
| 1:59.5 | And number four, that if the government is not doing its job, it's the right of the people to |
| 2:05.9 | alter it or to abolish it. The Declaration of Independence is like America's mission statement. |
