Hi, everybody, and welcome to today's Firelight Chat.

I have an important guest today.

This issue of climate change and saving the planet is certainly on everybody's mind.

One of the things I talk about a lot is that every time I talk to an audience I say,

is anybody here, either a young person who has said,

or are you an older person who has heard a young person say,

that under normal circumstances you would consider perhaps having a child?

But the given the state of the planet, you don't think it would be the responsible thing to do.

And it is heartbreaking how many people raise their hands.

And I always ask people to keep your hands up so that everybody can look around.

And I find it's even more now than it was when I ran for President last time.

It's up to like the quarter of the people in the room.

So obviously we have an entirely young generation who is very hip to what's happening

and is not living in denial.

We have a president who has acknowledged that climate change is the single largest existential threat.

And to be honest, with all due respect, this is a playbook that we've heard now.

When certain, particularly corporates as Democrats, say the right thing.

But it's what they do that we have to look at.

The truth of the matter is that the president has given more oil drilling permits even than Donald Trump did.

And of course now we know that he has approved the Willow project.

So, you know, they like to brag about the fact that they did some healthy green investment.

And they did do some healthy green investments in the inflation reduction act.
