Being a 911 dispatcher that also handles fire calls is a different sort of beast altogether.

Some agencies like mine do it all.

We handle fire, medical, and police.

The vast majority of what we do is police-related.

But a substantial portion of it is fire and EMS.

Others are strictly fire dispatchers.

In any case, though, the dispatchers receive the calls and dispatch units to people

and other sorts of emergencies. They're not calling about someone down the street getting shot

or stabbed. They're calling and worried about someone getting stuck inside of a house on fire,

or a car that pulled over the shoulder of the highway smoking badly, or because a business has flames shooting from the roof.

In this episode, I want to play two pretty incredible calls.

They're also very saddening.
