I'm Drew's co-host, entertainment writer Jim Hill, and he and I are recording this show on Friday, April 17th, 2020, and what, 15 minutes before we started recording through

the news broke about Comic Con being cancelled for this year.

Yeah, yet another thing we were looking forward to that will not happen.

Kind of the theme of the shear isn't, Jim?

But again, what was it, Governor Newsom of California just yesterday was talking about the fact that when it came to giant sports events and that sort of thing, you know, we were looking at 2021.

Right, that's the gist of what he said yesterday?

Oh yeah, yeah, which made me think, okay, well, we're never going back to Disneyland,

you know, because if there is one place that encourages you to be as close together to

complete strangers as possible it's Disneyland so I have no idea how they're going to handle

that but yeah it's a it's interesting yeah we've

been watching those news conferences very very attuned to that stuff so yeah it's it's

crazy well you know the interesting thing

is it's not just comic-con that got canceled because remember back in March who

was to get Wandercon and what they announced at that point was that was going to be postponed,

that they're going to try to look for a later date in the year,

and evidently as part of this announcement,

WonderCon for 2020 officially got cancelled.

And with apologies to Dan Z, but this really

doesn't bode well for Star Wars celebration this year either, does it?

No, it does not.
