Welcome to fine tuning with Drew Taylor, your one-stop shop what it comes to animation news and

commentary. I'm Drew's co-host entertainment writer Jim Hill and he and I recording this week's

show on Sunday, January 8th, 2023. Now this show will actually go live on Tuesday, January 10th,

my brother Peters, 60-second birthday by the way, so happy birthday to him. But it's also Drew,

the third anniversary of the debut of Owl House on Disney Channel. That went live back on January

10th, 2020, also the second special episode of season three of Owl House. Remember this back in,

what was it, October of 2021, Owl House creator Dana Terrace revealed that this animated series was

not exactly canceled, but the third season had been transformed into three special episodes,

but that were each going to be like 45 minutes long, largely because the powers that be at the

mouse house felt that the Owl House wasn't on brand when it came to the Disney Channel. That's

so fun. I don't know if you see on Twitter, but people are always sharing like the most horrifying

things from Owl House clips and things of you know, her getting her head cut off and creatures

and all this stuff and it's like this show is so cool and it's such a shame that it is not going

forward because Gravity Falls was weird and dark too and you know, oh no, I was just about to say

that. I mean, I do not understand why it is that a show like that gets celebrated, but again,

that ended after two seasons, right? And so here, well, we get a little more than two seasons,

we get two seasons and three special episodes and the reason we bring up the second special episode

of season three of Owl House that debuts on the Disney Channel Saturday January 21st and Dana

actually put up the poster that promotes this episode on social media on Thursday this week,

January 5th. So be sure to check that out. Beyond that Drew, how was the first week of the new year

for you? It was, you know, it was back to running around like a madman, but I hope Aaron feels better.
