This weekend is the 81st anniversary of the premiere of Pinocchio.

I remember it like it was yesterday, Jim.

We've talked about the little people who were hired to dress as Pinocchio.

Do you remember this story?

Yes, I did.

Okay. Pinocchio was presented at the Center Theater in New York, which had a big marquee

facing out onto Sixth Avenue.

And evidently, the folks at the theater thought it would be a really smart way to promote the film

if they hired little people to dress as Pinocchio and what they would do.

And I guess there were five or six of them.

Because again, it's February. It's cold.

One would go out and dance on the marquee for a little while and get cold and another one would tap in.

They're up on the marquee for hours.

It's cold. They're hungry.

They're thirsty.

They're particularly thirsty.

And somebody can handsome up a basket full of liquor and it kind of goes sideways from there.

Suddenly, all six of the Pinocchios are out on the marquee dancing because they've had

a little too much of drink and they're I think they're also gambling.

And I think a few of them may have taken their clothes off.
