commentary. I'm Drew's co-host entertainment writer Jim Hill and he and I are recording the show

on Friday June 25th 2021 which is the day after Conan ended its 11 year run on TBS did you watch any

of the shows this week or? Well I've kind of watched them piecemeal after the fact. I was really

hoping that Will Forte's version of Ted Turner would come back on the show one last time but you know

did not happen I mean I did this is a very very funny man who got treated very very poorly by NBC and

if you don't believe me go pick up a copy of Bill Carter's great book The War for Late Night when

Leno went early in television went crazy but that is a great book have you been watching the CNN

series Jim I have not the story of Late Night Mark Evinier who does the great news for me site

was talking about the fact that it's six hours long and the problem is that when you're trying

to tell the story of Late Night in six hours there's a lot of stuff that falls off the table.

Do they get it to Steve Allen at all or Jack Parr or yes they do okay yeah okay they do all right

it's worth watching Jim okay I got it in all of the available time I have I will go check that out

but think if things you really really need to check out what I loved about this final week of

Conan is it came time for Conan to do his exit interview from TBS and so suddenly the show

changes the animation and who comes in to do his exit the interview but but Homer Simpson's you

can go to YouTube right now it only takes you two minutes and 52 seconds to watch this thing

but it's so sweet what I love about this piece of animation is Hobart one point actually talks

about I've had a lot of jobs on one time I drove a monorail and of course he's referencing

the the march versus the monorail which O'Brien actually wrote while he was over at the Simpsons

and in fact that one was directed by our pal Rich Moore of record Ralph and Zootopia fam while

speaking of Jim you know who actually did the animation for this little bit no is our our other
