In a culture that is obsessed with measuring talent and ability, we often overlook the importance of inspiration.

Inspiration has the power to propel us from

a life of apathy to one of infinite possibility. It can transform the mundane into the magnificent.

Inspiration is a powerful force in our lives. But what exactly is inspiration and where does it come

from and how can we go get some?

For me personally, I look for models of inspiration.

Typically it is other people's stories of their triumphs, resiliency, overcoming difficulties, and well, their inspiring example.

This is why I love what I do. I spend my days searching the world over for the

people and the stories that can inspire you. I look for and study those who are the exception.

Models, mentors, and examples of people doing great things in the world, maybe in spite of great

difficulties. Proof that if they can do it, so can you.

One such story has always inspired me

is the story of Sir Richard Branson.

Starting out, like many of us in a lower middle class family,

he struggled in school, was diagnosed with dyslexia,

ADD, and failed many times over during his early

entrepreneurial attempts. Yet, look at what he's

accomplished. But where does Branson get his inspiration? Of course through many people, but I learned

that Branson's first hero was Douglas Bader. Bader was a Battle of Britain hero who happened to

also be a family friend of the Branson's. And to Branson, Bader was the exception.
