This week, Dan concludes his three-part conversation with Lori Proctor, who has completed

the training certificate and the externship program with the Allender Center.

Dan and Lori are joined by Emma, Laura's

14-year-old daughter, who reflects on an experience of trauma and what it was like for her

mom to respond to that experience with wisdom and care.

Well, I've had the privilege of being with Lori and her compatriot, Jean, and in our conversations about the work that they have done, I have a privilege on the way to an ICAP, the International Christian Alliance on prostostitution, and Lori and Gene were and are planning to help lead those events.

We had the privilege of staying with Lori and her family, and I got to meet Emma.

Emma is a, if I can describe her in her presence, a lovely, precocious, articulate, and sassy young woman who knows a great deal about trauma already at the age of 13 and 14.

And so as we began to talk about an event that she had gone through in the last year, it just became

so very, very clear to me that I've got a privilege that I seldom have, and that is to talk

to a sassy, articulate, precocious, 14-year-old now, about trauma and with her mother, mother Lori. So ladies, thank you so much for joining

me. And Emma, I would love for you just, first of all, just tell people, you know, where you are in

school, what interests you have, like a little demographic snapshot of who you are?

Okay, so I'm in eighth grade, and I love to perform.

I love to just make people laugh and make people have a good time.

And I love to dance.

And I really enjoy life.

I think it's great.

It's very apparent.

I had the chance to watch you perform in a,

shall we say, a remarkable play of Madagascar.
