The Welcome to Faith is. I'm Pastor Rick Stevens.

So pleased for you to join us this week on Faith is. This is the place, probably the only place, that you will hear that faith is absolute confidence in the trustworthiness of God.

And we've got a few things to talk about today.

And as you know, I've been trying to encourage us, prod us, challenge us,

stretch us, maybe all those things and more,

to make sure we think about the things that we see going on around in the world

through a Christian lens.

Now, I realize that you might disagree with some of my perspectives through a Christian lens. Now I realize that you might disagree with some of my

perspectives through a Christian lens. That's fine, but make sure if you do, do it through the

lens of the Bible. Just make sure you understand that Christians can differ on things,

but we want to make sure we think about things through the lens of the Bible.

So we think Christianly about things. I'm not here to require you to think like I do or to have the same opinions,

but I am here to challenge, stretch, encourage, prod, cajole, whatever you want to think of it, I want us to take seriously our

responsibilities to engage the world around us from a Christian perspective.

And so we want to talk about a few things.

There are some things in the news relative to life-wise and free speech that I saw.

And I think we need to revisit that a little bit to make sure we

understand what it involves and how significant that it is. There was a CNN article that I saw

recently that it's absolutely chilling, horrible, horrific, you might say. And I want to talk about that

a little bit and encourage you to go find that article
