We talked about his book, Hope in the Dark, Believing God is good when life is not. then in the second half hour of the show I'll be joined by my good friend Julie Nelson she's one of the evening news anchors on

tonight on tonight's broadcast about a man who miraculously survived a bear attack on a

hiking trip a few months ago this is is truly a cannot miss story. First,

let's listen to my conversation with Craig Groschelle. You know this because many, many are walking

through storms. If you don't aren't walking through a storm yourself, you love somebody who is.

My young sister, my younger baby sister, a couple years ago, her husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She's only in her 40s, and she kept saying, I'm too young to be a widow. Well, now she's been a widow for two years, and I've watched God all over her. I mean, grief is so unbelievable, but I've asked her, what's your secret? And she said, I don't know that I have a secret, but she says, I get out of bed every day. She said, I refuse to let the goodness of God be up for grabs.

She said, with Christ in me, I'm stronger than I know. I tell myself that every day. And then I keep telling myself, I'm going to be okay. How do you navigate such heart-wrenching times without pat answers and cliches? But truly, truly, finding a hope that sustains you. I'm so glad to introduce you. I don't think he needs an introduction, but author and Pastor Craig Groschelle has written an amazing book. It's titled Hope in the Dark, Believing God is Good When Life is Not. Pastor Craig, I know you're such a busy guy. Thank you for joining us today. Stozy, I always will try to make time for you. I love what you do, and I'm really sorry to hear about your sister's loss.

That's so sad, and I'm thankful that she's experiencing God's grace in the middle of it,

but I hate that your family's been through that.

Yeah, thank you so much. And you're no stranger to suffering and hardship, not only in your family, but in those you

serve in your church. And as you said in the opening of this book, this is a totally different

tone for you because you're hilarious. I love your humor. But this is a book you wrote a while

ago tucked away and then brought to the forefront. Tell us about that and how and why.

Yeah, this book is really,

really different. And, you know, normally we try to tell people our book is for them. This book's

not for everybody. This life is good right now. This book is not for you at all. This book is for

people that are hurting, suffering, and, you know, maybe even wrestling with real spiritual

doubts. Susie, the story behind the book is so personal to me.
