Imagine walking along the beach, the sun high overhead, waves washing up and over your

feet.

As you comb the beach with a metal detector, just back and forth, swinging the detector

listening for that little beam, searching, hoping.

What are you hoping to find?

Some unexpected treasure?

And what will you do with it once you find it?

Well, this meditation from Jeremiah chapter 29 is about, well, the hunt, looking, searching,

and eventually finding what you most long for, but not an earthly treasure, the heavenly

reward, not a lost coin, but finding the eternal presence of God.

As it says in the old hymn, the wonder of it all, there's the wonder of sunset at

evening, the wonder of sunrise I see, but the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul

is the wonder that God loves me.

So to begin, whether evening sunset or morning sunrise, allow the next 15 minutes to be a

time of divine meditation, finding once again the God who loves you, as your eyes close

without effort, center on this place of discovery, this time of love, in this present moment

finding the presence of God, spirit, and sun.
