Finding friends to fight ISIS in Syria.

Hello again, I'm Armin Alney, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International. The daily look at the issues Americans care about most.

The U.S. is set out to train and equip some 5,000 so-called moderate rebels in Syria, but fewer than 60 have qualified.

The U.S. demands they pledge to fight only against ISIS, not against the regime of Bashar al-Assad,

even though it's what made them rebels in the first place.

Critics say the Obama administration is failing.

Some advocate renewed focus on getting rid of Assad.

Others say there are no better options and that Assad might be the best of the unacceptable alternatives.

Today's talking point, should college be debt-free?

Today, she is meeting his call for debt-free college with a plan to guarantee no loan tuition.
