Do you have a collection? What are some things that you have enjoyed collecting? When I was a young girl, I loved collecting rocks, and now my own kids enjoy collecting rocks and fossils and gemstones.

In fact, they have an entire geology museum. They started this by

0:58.0

simply finding and collecting things that they found interesting. They discovered there were fossils

right where we live in Colorado. They found clam fossils and even a full ammonite fossil,

1:10.3

which was an amazing sea creature, similar to a Nautilus,

home, but they couldn't keep these wonders

1:29.3

to themselves. Several years ago, they decided to put their museum on display. They hand-wrote

1:35.7

flyers and delivered them to all of our neighbors and also mailed them to friends. On the day

1:41.5

of their museum, they moved all their displays out to our front yard, and dozens of

1:47.5

people, adults and kids, came to see what they had found. After that, the museum became a traveling

1:55.1

museum. Our kids displayed it at the local farmers market, and it spent an entire month on display at our local

2:02.5

library. Collecting things in nature is wonderful. It's a great way to learn more about God's

2:08.7

wild and wonderful world, and to share those wonders with so many people. Before we meet

2:15.7

today's guest and dive into nature museums, let's thank our sponsors who made this lesson possible, including CTC Math.
