People often talk about ethics, but what do we do to promote them? After all, what are ethics anyway? Hello there,

everyday Americans, Paul Engel here with the Constitution study, where we read and study the

Constitution, teach rise in generation be free. I'm glad you could join me today. This idea of

ethics to me is important. What are ethics? You know me, you know me, I like words, I like definitions.

Ethics, according to Miriam Western Online Dictionary, in this context of what we're dealing with,

ethics is the principles of conduct governing an individual or a group. Now, there's another sense of what ethics are a set of moral principles, a theory or system

of moral values.

So you put those two together, and what we're really talking about is do we have a set of moral

principles, a set of moral values that govern the conduct of individuals or groups. That's what we're talking about

ethics. Now, before I really jump into some of the ethics questions, I do want to point out that

the standoff, the game of chicken, so to speak, between, well, let's just say the donkeys and the elephants regarding the funding of the Department of Homeland Security seems to have been resolved.

The Senate did pass legislation that would fund most of DHS.

It did not include immigration, customs, enforcement, or some parts of Customs and Border Patrol, which I believe were already funded under the big beautiful bill.

The bill went to the House of Representatives and according to reporting, hey, they passed it and I'm even hearing people say that the lines at the TSA checkpoints and airports have gone down dramatically just on the

well they say just on this remember there was already some money set aside to help pay some

salaries so I think it's a combination of things but the good news is this latest standoff is

well seems to be concluded.

Don't know how long it will last.

I expect another one.

That's kind of the question of ethics.
