Okay, we're live. Hi, this is William Ramsey. Welcome to William Ramsey Investigates on tonight show of a very special guest. Her name is Carol Herlika, and she is publishing a book within the next month. The title of the book is Finding David, an American wife betrayed by her government. And it's about the loss of her husband in Vietnam many, many decades ago now,

but he went missing on May 18, 1965, but it's a very detailed book,

Can you talk about all of, I mean, this is kind of like a life's work, your experiences with

your husband. Can you talk about how you guys met and his progression through the U.S. airports?

I met David through a high school friend, and he set us up on a blind date.

And I started dating David when I was 16, and David was 22.

And at the time, you know, I thought I thought my gosh he's an old man when I

first started dating him and we just went from there and he was in the air force at the time

and he was flying on a B-36 at the time and he was in there for four-year tour. And long towards the end of his tour,

he decided that he wanted to be a pilot, which he had always loved flying and was in the process of getting a private pilot's license.

And so he went ahead and took the, at that time, they had a cadet training program, and that's the way

you got into the pilot training. And he took the test and he passed the test. And so he was due

to get out of the service. And so he was out for six months before he had been, well, he'd been accepted into the pilot training

program, but had to wait six months until his class was called up. So at that point, he came

home to Littleton, Colorado, and he got himself a job in a little plant there. I don't even

remember what the plant manufactured.
