Summary

South Cox returns to the podcast to discuss everything from raising kids to camp food   Since 1987 Stalker Stickbows has integrated exquisite craftsmanship with a devotion to the sport of traditional archery. I welcome your interest in the most exciting and durable bow you will ever shoot.  Furthermore, I extend a sincere hand of friendship to those of you who share my love for a sport that reflects a profound respect for the great outdoors.  It has been my goal to create more than just a beautifully handcrafted and powerful bow. I believe that our customers are friends who are asking us to create a trusted hunting or shooting companion that they can rely on… a partner as durable as they are…one who will be with them for as long as they have the will and the strength to draw both breath and the bowstring. My bows are built to be as enjoyable to shoot as they are beautiful.  I believe that you deserve nothing less when the chance of a lifetime shot presents itself. This is my commitment to value…and is the philosophy that puts backbone into every bow that I proudly build with both your name and mine. And so South, I've from what I understand you have been busier than you know what I won't even say that because I'll get in trouble. You've been super busy. You've been busy with the bows.

0:21.0

Yeah, no, it's been great. We put a catalog out. Oh, I think it was in February and that always generates a lot of interest. And then I think just the kind of a surge of interest in traditional archery in general.

0:34.0

Between the two of those things, man, we seemed like we were answering the phones more than we were building bows there for a couple of months.

0:41.0

It's kind of started to slow down a little bit now as far as the orders coming in, but we're neck deep and sawdust now going like crazy. So.

0:50.0

Yes, the hashtag track life is definitely picked back up again. It seems like did you end up finding a new guy because I know you're looking for a new guy back last time you know.

0:58.0

Yeah, no, that worked out great. I got a ton of of interest in that job position. And it was kind of funny. The very first person that applied is the guy that end up getting the job and had a lot of you know qualified people with a lot of you know big varied background there.

1:18.0

We end up hiring a guy out of out of geez Ohio. And he had actually coincidentally moving here to the area already. So it worked out really well.

1:30.0

No, that's that's good. I good help is always hard to hard to find. Yeah, even here. I think there's more jobs than people in Colorado now. And people as I can find a job. Oh, my glad the personal problem. There's a lot of work going on.

1:45.0

Interesting. Interesting interviews here. Oh, good. Lordy. We had one guy come in recently that would I mean it was like hide the women and kids. I don't know.

1:55.0

I mean, the thing is what goes on in someone's mind and interview and they don't talk. Yeah, you know what I mean? It was kind of awkward. You know, you had that.

2:04.0

I don't look at each other. We're like, yeah, he just looks like this old time. So I was like, I was like, please don't kill me.

2:11.0

I could go postal holy shit. Well, Lord. Yeah, well, no, that's that's good. You went over to New Zealand too, didn't you?

2:19.0

Australia. Australia. Yeah. Yeah. Teased. I forgot all about that one. That was like that was only a few months ago, but it seems like it was a year ago. Yeah.

2:27.0

Yeah, I had a great show there in Australia. There's a man, the Australian people.

2:32.0

It fact it was pretty funny because I made this comment in the in the company of a Canadian.

2:38.0

I said, you know, Canadians are great people as well. Super nice people. I've never met a Canadian. I didn't like, but I was saying that.

2:46.0

I think that Australians are even nicer than Canadians and he took great offense to that one.

2:53.0

Fantastic people. And man, the amount of hunting opportunity that there is in Australia just blows me away.

3:01.0

And the amount of experience that are able to gain and relatively short period of time just for you know, measured in years there.

3:11.0

I think it rivals, you know, what we'll get in a lifetime of experiences from, you know, if you if you get to go play golf, you know, year round, you know, every every week, then you're going to become a pretty proficient golfer versus if if your golf experiences is restricted to, you know, August and September, like most of us get to bow hunt.

3:35.0

Then the amount of, you know, how proficient you can become at that, it's going to take a lot longer in those Australians man.
