With the second pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Washington Redskins select Chase Young,

defensive end, Ohio State.

Congratulations, Chase.

The Redskins are a better team today than they were prior to last night's draft.

They got better.

They drafted the best player in the draft, arguably last night.

They drafted, perhaps, in the history of the franchise, on draft night, they drafted perhaps in the history of the franchise on draft night,

the greatest potential player for their franchise that they have ever drafted.

Chase Young was the guy.

Chase Young was the guy that many of us wanted going back to midseason when it became apparent that the Redskins were a

dreadful football team and were in contention for one of those top two picks.

Chase Young is a Redskin. He's an elite pass-rushing talent. He is, yes, a generational

pass-rushing talent. He should be, you know, and you never know with this draft,

but he should be one of those five, six defensive players that really keep offensive

coordinators up at night, a game wrecker. He's a freak athletically. He's versatile. He can line

up almost anywhere along the defensive front. His presence should elevate the

performance of the players around him. The Redskins defensively got better last night,

especially when you put it in combination with the coaching staff, the defensive coaching staff

that they've added. He will make everybody else on defense better, and because of that,

he will make the team better. And I am personally excited about watching Chase Young on one end

and Montez Sweat on the other, and Duran Payne and Jonathan Allen and Matt Ionitis, and who knows, Ryan
