Yes, it is the final day of September, the second to last day of the MLB regular season.

My name is Chris Crawford.

I am joined, as always, by my good buddy Drew Silva.

We're going to be keeping things positive today.

We're going to be doing five up a piece from the Friday action, also doing a look at some headlines and offering a streaming option.

And let's get into those headlines.

Drew, it is far from uncommon to see managers fired in a regular season.

It's a little weird to see a manager fired with only three

games left, but we saw that happen with Gabe Kapler. Yeah, I think the timing was pretty strange,

but Giants president Farian Zaidi said he informed Kapler that he was going to be let go

during an hour-long discussion, assuming that was

sometime Friday morning or afternoon. I guess it could have been overnight on Thursday.

There were little rumors coming out that it might happen, and then it finally happened.

Finally, the news broke on Friday evening.

I asked for the main reason the Giants decided to let go of Kapler.

He said pretty simply, we played our worst baseball when it mattered most.

Kai Correa will manage the final weekend or these final two games now as the interim skipper.

And the Giants are hoping to have a new full-time manager in place by the start of free agency in early

November.
