You might be getting a theme already here what we're going to talk about today. But welcome to a roundtable episode of Film Sack. Today, we have chosen the topic of why the Lord of the Rings films, the Peter Jackson original trilogy, now, oh, what's the anniversary?

25 years.

25 years for fellowship.

For fellowship, right, where it began.

And I'd be like 21 years for King, Return of the King, I think, 2004.

No, they came out in consecutive years. Yeah, because they filmed the whole thing all at once. We'll get into that. I can never remember how it worked, though. It was like 01, 0203 then, so 2004 there wasn't a movie. Well, anyway, why those things hold up so well? And this all came about because I sat down and watched Fellowship again. And I know a lot of people do this.

Like you'll cut out a whole Saturday, Sunday, and you'll do the extended editions or maybe the theatricals. You know, just you'll make it a tradition in your homes. A lot of people have this with Lord of the Rings. And it turns out, this stuff is really good. I watched that movie and went, my gosh, for a 25-year-old thing, how is this hold up so well? Like, it's kind of crazy, which brought up all these thoughts about, well, maybe on film sack, we could talk about it. So, Randy, I'm going to throw it to you. What do you, why do you think this is true? Or, you know, what do you think is going on? It also happens that it's the 25th anniversary of the, you know, the Fellowship of the Ring coming out.

went to fathom has these uh events and this is one of them yep yeah and um uh so anytime

one of the three is celebrating an anniversary, they show all three.

And so right now.

Oh, that works.

I didn't realize that was a thing.

This year, next year.

Probably next year.

Yeah.
