Hey everybody, welcome in.

My name is Chris, and this is a podcast which consists of words and probably sound waves, I would guess, in some regard. How are you today? You know, I see you driving the kids around. I see you going for a run. I see you at the gym. Thanks so much for bringing me along with you today. Obviously, there are an awful lot of podcasts out there.

I appreciate that so many of you tune into this one.

I think I gave a little speech in one of the episodes here this week,

or else it might have been on Jeff Erickson's podcast when I was a guest.

It's all kind of blending together.

But we talked about exhibition games and the fact

that I don't watch a single minute of exhibition games. They are useless cash grabs. But

what's a little more use to me is hearing what beat reporters say about those joint practices

that have started around the league.

Some teams do one of those during August and some do two. It's still not really anything you want

to totally hang your head on and make a draft pick solely based on. But it's clearer than ever

that whereas the exhibition games are a farce,

these joint practices represent the teams coming a lot closer to legitimately discovering

what is and isn't working through entire days' worth of competitive practices.

And so I do.

I will absolutely read the beat reporters associated with each of these joint practices.

Not so much because, hey, I'm going to make a ranks change right away,

but because it's probably the most convincing beginning for that drumbeat that we talk about
