0:29.0	This is a letter that was written to provide believers with practical instruction for how
0:33.3	to live godly lives in an ungodly world.
0:36.8	For example, in chapter 4, James deals with conflict throughout the New Testament Jesus
0:42.1	promised peace and called his followers to live at peace with one another.
0:46.0	But James raises the question, why are there still so many fights and quarrels even within
0:51.8	the church?
0:54.2	We're going to read from the Bible in James chapter 4 in the New Testament, James chapter 4,
1:09.0	and reading from verse 1.
1:11.8	What causes fights and quarrels among you?
1:16.1	Don't they come from your desires that battle within you?
1:21.4	You want something, but don't get it.
1:24.9	You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want.
1:28.8	You quarrel and fight.
1:30.9	You do not have because you do not ask God.
1:34.1	When you ask, you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives that you may spend
1:40.0	what you get on your pleasures.
1:42.9	You adulterous people don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred towards God.
1:49.0	Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
1:53.8	Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to live in us envies
1:59.0	intensely?
