Here's Grace to You, Bible teacher John MacArthur.

John, I want to survey with you some of the major controversies that you've been

embroiled in.

I don't know if it'll surprise you to know that lots of people think of you as a

controversialist.

I know you well enough to know that you hate controversy and yet you're not

one to run from controversy.

And in fact, in the New Testament, when Paul gives the qualifications for an elder in Titus,

he specifically says this that the elder must be able to hold vast the faithful word,

which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort

in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

And over the 50 years of your ministry, you've been faithful to uphold both sides of that.

It's not a popular thing these days to engage in any kind of controversy.
