Geeky Science Alert, India's heatwave, India is going through a massive heatwave right now.

They are experiencing what we experienced here in Oregon last summer, and I think it was in June, wasn't it?

That we had a hundred and sixteen degree weather for three days in a row.

This is mined by over a billion people in India and Pakistan now have been experiencing

continuous heat of over 104 degrees. In Delhi, the world's second largest city, it's been two back to

three back to back days of a hundred and ten degree Fahrenheit heat.

And in India, only the richest people have air condition, doing serious damage to this country

and to their crops. Now, India produces wheat, chapatis, right, and there's a lot of Indian food that

has wheat in it. The wheat crop is starting to fail. So far, the estimate is that between ten and

fifteen percent, I'm quoting from a piece by Robinson Meyer in the Atlantic.com, by the way.

Between ten and fifteen percent of the Indian wheat crop is off, it's gone down in flames.

The Ukrainian wheat crop is in crisis because it's hard to plant and harvest wheat when you're

having a war going on around you. India has now five straight years of record wheat crops. This
