Dr. Eddie Glott Jr., he's an educator, author and political commentator whose work

you are very familiar with as it examines the complex dynamics of the American experience,

the intersection of race and culture and how that defines we the people, right?

He's got a new book out which we're going to get into. It's a bestseller. Begin again, James

Baldwin's America and his urgent lessons for our own. It takes a look at Black communities,

the difficulties of race in the United States and the challenges we all face as we grow this

democracy, as we work towards building a union, not just a more perfect union but a union.

Well everybody, I think everybody knows who at least follow me and know

When I first met with him, we were like two big cats looking at him.

Republicans, he's already suspect, right? But we got to know each other and spend some time and

Eddie, I want to start the conversation where you do in the book. Right out of the beginning,

you say, quote, Begin Again aims to think with Baldwin and to interrogate how an insidious view

of race in the form of Trumpism continues to frustrate any effort to achieve our country.
