My oldest son, Amir, is nine years old.

He is my love, my first baby.

When he was born, the first 24 hours,

he was in the NICU because he was early, your preterm.

But everything seemed fine with him,

and then within 24 hours, they were calling me in the hospital

to tell me that he had had a stroke.

I was like, oh my God, we'll have it to my son.

I was in complete shock.

They told us, you know, we expect things to happen

as he grows up, but at that point, he was okay.

For the first few months of his life,

he was hit in the milestones, even his doctors said he looks good,

but at five months, everything changed.

We took him in for his five month vaccines.

And the day after, we started seeing a difference in Amir.

His fever went up, he started disappearing a little bit.

He had eye twitches, and he was like in pain in a way.

His eyes would flicker to the left,

to skin the blood, for five, 10 seconds, and then come back.

So we took him to the hospital,

and that's when you found out he was getting seizures.
