Now first if someone told you they wanted to treat your cancer by injecting you with

more cancer cells you'd be right to be skeptical but that's exactly what

researchers at Harvard Medical School are doing because they're exploiting a

natural tendency of cancer cells to home back in on

their parent cancer deposits or to join up with sites of cancer spread which are called metastases.

Kaleed Shah has developed a way to genetically engineer harvested tumor cells to make

them churn out therapeutic death signals so that when the cells are re-injected into the body,

they seek out tumors and trigger nearby cancer cells to kill themselves.
