Welcome to the podcast. This is Douglas Wilson. When I say, this is Douglas Wilson, I mean, I am Douglas Wilson. And you are you. Thank you for joining us. And this is episode 396. 396. Now, what I want to talk about initially here is the need that we have to smash certain kinds of patriarchy.

There are certain kinds of patriarchy that need to go down.

Islamic patriarchy, for example, needs to go down.

Or the Manosphere patriarchy, secular men who are atheistic or Nietzschean or pagan or Darwinian,

who are often the Manusphere talking about how dumb or stupid or evil women are. And they

are beating their chests and wanting to establish a patriarchy.

Those are patriarchies that do need to be opposed, that do need to be challenged, that do need

to be overthrown.

That has to happen.

The problem is that when people look at these demented forms of patriarchy, where the men are just off the chain, they say, well, see, we need a woman's touch, we need women's voice, we need to oppose this by means of feminism, as though feminism is capable of standing up to this kind of thing. Well, feminism has been, let's go back

to the publication of the feminine mystique. We'll talk about third wave feminism, the kind of

feminism that is now ubiquitous everywhere you turned that is part of the air we breathe. We've been

living under the

hegemonic gaze of a strident feminism for all of my adult life. And at the end,

in the waning years, in the twilight years of this feminism, what have we accomplished?

What has been accomplished? The Virginia Slims

advertisements for cigarettes a few decades ago, when you've come a long way, baby, celebrating

women's lives, celebrating the triumphs of feminism. Well, yeah, you have come a long way, baby.

How long have we come? Well, at the end of feminism. Well, yeah, you have come a long way, baby. How long have we come?

Well, at the end of this long battle of the feminists fighting the patriarchy, we don't know what a woman is anymore.

Officially, the United States doesn't know what a woman is.
