Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson here on the Maroon Friday edition of the yard. It is a victory Friday on top of that. A lot to talk about. I'm probably going to make some people mad today. You know what? I'm completely okay with that. Completely okay. As Mike Muir said years ago, if I offend you, then probably you needed to be offended.

So I'm just going to tell you now, I'm probably going to step on some toes today. I am completely okay with that.

So I'm going to speak very frank and kind of down to earth about some things that I think that happened yesterday.

Obviously, we win the ballgame and contrary to popular belief, that is what matters most.

That is what matters most.

What happened during the game and after the game that is not part of football is something

that we'll address.

And as you guys are listening to this, Mississippi State's John Cohen has already released a statement. I mean, the statement is pretty much boilerplate stuff. We're looking into it. And here's how this whole thing is going to shake out. Is Mississippi State going to review the film? SEC office is going to review the film. They're going to identify the culprits. And then there'll be a suspension next year in week one that's going to be what happens just go ahead and get ready for that okay so we're not going to

disband the football program we're not going to bulldoze davis wade stadium we're not going to fire

mike leach we're not going to run our players around Town Square and have

somebody walk in front of them ringing the shame bell. We're not going to do that. There was a

dust up after a ball game that was a very, very, very physical ball game where two teams played

exceptionally hard. That is getting lost in translation to a lot of

people. Probably the most physical game that we've played all year, to be fair, and to give Tulsa some

credit, I mean, those guys came ready to play. And that's one of the things we talked about on Wednesday's

show. They're a very competitive team. They've been in every ballgame. We expected it to be a

tight ballgame. We did think state would win. That's what happened. But I was impressed with Tulsa. Now, I didn't care for some of the things they did. And listen, there's blame on both sides of this whole issue. But I don't want to spend the whole show talking about the fight because I think there's some other people that were not involved in the fight that had really good football games yesterday and led Mississippi State to a victory. So that's what we're going to focus on first and then we'll kind of get to the rest of it. Okay, but here's let me just say this too before I get too wound up. We should never ever under any circumstances at any point under any topic do anything to find favor with the national media ever oh well these national media people are crushing us so what we're never going to win with the national media, ever. That's just part of the deal.

I mean, we've never been a media darling.

We never will be.

We're not even the favored school in our home state when it comes to the media.

So what makes us think that the Kirk Herb Streets and the Dan Walkins and the ESPNs and all those people the world what's what

are we gained by kowtow into those people oh man I think we need to do this man we need to do
